As part of our own ongoing property expansion and supported by the Alresford Residents under our 'Investing in Alresford' objective, Birkdale Projects oversaw the project management and supply chain selection process for the complete refurbishment of two old barn style buildings which were suffering from severe dilapidation and structural failures.
Bradley undertook the complete project management and sub contractor tendering and selection process throughout the construction period. We were also involved in the initial design scope of works with our architects and building control, to create a refurbishment scheme which was both fitting for the local environment, in line with current government energy conservation guidelines and in turn retaining commercial and financial viability.
Both of the building envelopes were totally taken back to the original structure, with new insulated external wood clad elevation panels installed, retaining a rural office building finish.
Both buildings were completely re-wired along with high specification climate control systems via the suspended ceilings installed, providing fully integrated heating and cooling climate control.
The buildings in question provided around 2,100 sq ft of two storey office space, with a further 1,050 sq ft of office space over one level.
Both buildings were refurbished to a high specification including new suspended ceilings, internal glazed partitions and meeting rooms, carpet tiles and all new back-of-house WCs and kitchen areas. These were supported by perimeter dado trunking containing power, IT and data cabling in the office areas, linked back to a central IT and communication patch panel.
